EMS Works on Improving HIE with Hospitals

An article published in Emergency Management on March 10, 2016 describes the work being done in California, and in other parts of the country, to improve Emergency Medical Services health information exchange with hospitals during day-to-day emergencies and during disasters.  The article is a nice description of the activities of the PULSE +EMS project, funded as part of the ONC grant.  The SAFR model, which describes the functional aspects of electronic health records necessary for EMS systems, is well articulated.
